ISOMETRIC MOVEMENT - STRENGTH
CORE STABILITY - PELVIC RESTORATION
yohm Pilates
yohm Pilates is utilised along side yohm
Yoga during our healthy Golf and detox weekends
and and is also available to you one-on-one
with yohm.
The essential difference between Pilates
and Yoga is that Pilates works on the principles
of isometric movement and Yoga upon the plain
of elongated movement. Meaning that Pilates
focuses on one muscle group at a time and
exercises these in ‘Isolation’
to others. Ideal for treating certain types
of injury and strengthening weakness in muscle
groups required for a particular action such
as a golf or tennis swing or taking to the
ski slopes.
Yoga as it were, seeks total body movement
and is fluid in its form. Yoga also combines
the additional wellness concepts of the important
development of breath and mind as well as
the stimulation of reflexology and acupressure
points. Many feel that yoga provides a more
optimal ‘total mind/body’ practice
and that’s why we have chosen to make
it our focus.
As to which one is better for you or you
prefer, why not book a yohm Pilates class
and you decide. Both are truly wonderful forms
of physical stimulation.
